What is
Mikkeller Bar Seoul
?
In a quiet back alley in the Garuso Street district, Mikkeller mascots Henry and Sally politely welcome the passersby. In a country where the craft beer scene is picking up quickly but where a broader range of beer styles is still hard to come by, Mikkeller Bar Seoul is a breath of fresh air for many.
All beers poured at the bar are strictly cold chained from the breweries to the bar. Cold chained means that the beer has been kept refrigerated during transport, which works wonders for most beer styles and ensures the freshest quality upon arrival (even for beers arriving from the other side of the world).
One of the owners, Heeyoon Kim, used to be a doctor of medicine, but after a trip to San Francisco she fell in love with craft beer. Not long after, she realized her new dream by opening Mikkeller Bar Seoul. For the opening of the bar, she collaborated with Mikkeller Art Director Keith Shore to adopt the organic look of the very first Mikkeller Bar on Viktoriagade in Copenhagen while adding some distinctly Korean touches. With 30 taps, the bar features beers from Mikkeller as well as from the bourgeoning Asian craft beer scene.
